To keep a promise she made during March is Reading Month, Principal Pitt kissed a pig in front of students on March 28.  She originally told the kids that if they read 1,800 books she would kiss a pig.  "It was a joke!" Pitt said.  Well, the joke was on her...Tyler students read over 2.000 books during the month of March!

Did you know that we have a HUGE recycling program here at Tyler?  Our PTO sponsors many different types of recycling that not only care for our environment, but raise MONEY for our school!  Check out some of the things we can turn into funds:

• glue sticks
• foil juice pouches
  
• ink cartridges
  
• cell phones
  
• laptops
  
• pdas
  
• chip bags
  
• lunchable containers
  
• and more!
  

Students can simply dispose of their trash in one of the recyclilng bins in the cafeteria or you can send in items from home.  (Please make sure donations are clean!)  Stop by our cafeteria or art room to learn more about these exciting ways to generate funds for Tyler by recycling.
